SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICS STATEMENT
As an independently owned company, Cin Cin values total transparency of its production processes and materials in the belief that transparency ensures high standards of ethics as well as peace of mind for its responsible consumers. Due to this, in-house production has been prioritised, seeing Cin Cin studios established in Bali, Indonesia, in 2021, where 96% of all the brand’s products are made and the founders also reside full-time in order to be present alongside the team.
ENDURING, QUALITY GARMENTS
Producing high-quality products made with care and a point of design difference is a cornerstone of Cin Cin’s philosophy, aiming to delight their customer so they may return, serving to oppose the ‘fast fashion’ mindset of diminishing a garment to its most basic form with a lower bottom line in mind. Bolstered by the strong capabilities and standards of their in-house production studios, each piece is expertly cut, sewn, and finished with French seams and thoughtful finishing touches.
Differentiating details such as custom floral metal hardware and shimmering woven labels are hand-stitched onto each garment to ensure a premium look and feel. Garments are printed one by one so that the exact section of a print motif is featured on every dress, rather than printing the roll in a continuous pattern which would reduce cost but also reduce its beauty. Printing a garment individually means it must also be cut individually - these are the added processes Cin Cin’s founders feel are essential to make each piece as special as possible.
MINDFUL, ENDURING FABRICS
We choose to use fabrics that are of superior quality and that hold sustainability certifications where possible.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a certification that analyses and quantifies the environmental impact of a product’s life cycle, including consumption of raw materials, chemicals, water, and energy; the waste produced; and the emissions generated by the mill that manufactures it. The EPD analysis converts these impacts into a single measure called the Global Warming Potential, or Carbon Footprint, expressed as kilograms of CO₂ per square metre of fabric produced.
This mill that creates Cin Cin’s primary swimwear base cloth using recycled Repreve® yarn has a very low Carbon Footprint of 4, which is up to 10 times lower than other swimwear purposed fabrics.
The natural flax linen fabric used by Cin Cin is OEKO-TEX certified, a recognized standard verifying that textile products are free from harmful substances through rigorous testing. This certification ensures products are safe for human health and have been evaluated for a long list of chemicals, including pesticides, heavy metals, and carcinogenic dyes.
The printing house Cin Cin uses to print their made in-house motifs onto their fabrics treats their wastewater so it is completely chemical-free, and holds a plethora of certifications, including most notably being the first and only textile digital printing company of up to medium enterprise to obtain the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificate, and being the first and only textile digital printing company of up to medium enterprise to obtain the OEKO-TEX STEP certificate for Sustainable Textile Production. The printing house is located nearby in Bali, Indonesia, also reducing the carbon footprint impact of potential shipping or transport of fabric to the brand’s in-house production facility.

SEDEX & SMETA SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
As part of their commitment to ethical and responsible business practices, the brand’s supply chain partners participate in SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessments. SMETA is one of the world’s most widely used social and environmental audit methodologies, evaluating labour standards, health and safety, environmental management, and business ethics.
Sedex provides a global platform to share audit results transparently and monitor continuous improvement across the supply chain. While SMETA is not a certification, it offers a rigorous, standardised framework that helps assess and strengthen the social and environmental performance of the brand’s operations and partners. Through this process and its Corrective Action Plans, Cin Cin ensures that its business practices align with internationally recognised ethical and responsible sourcing expectations.
ZERO LANDFILL POLICY
Warehouse & Office Waste
All electronic waste, cardboard, paper, and hard plastic are recycled, so only the minimum goes to landfill.
Garment Waste
Garments that are wearable are never destroyed or sent to landfill. In the rare case an item is stained, torn, or made in alternative fabrics for sampling, it is sold in private sales or donated to charities in Bali, or dispersed to our own production staff.
Fabric Waste
Cin Cin produces almost no fabric waste due to the fact that they produce in-house, allowing them to make one-of-a-kind garments with leftover fabrics and items like scrunchies in order to use excess. Archival fabrics are also used to make samples.
CARBON REDUCTION POLICY
Cin Cin makes active choices throughout their operations and supply chain to minimise the carbon created, working with fabric mills that have robust certifications or policies regarding carbon reduction. The brand has chosen to create a local Bali network of suppliers and outsourcers to reduce the transport of goods and travel needed, and chooses domestic and international couriers that have green energy and carbon-offset policies.
WATER REDUCTION POLICY
Cin Cin understands that water is a precious resource, and do what they can to minimise its use across all supply chain and operations.
As their business grows, Cin Cin continues to seek ways to do their best in adhering to mindful production and operating policies to not compromise on people or the planet. Please email customercare@cincin.com to give suggestions or advice.
